lyrics

From up here
we can watch
the world implode upon itself
we walk on a sea of light bulbs
that refuse to hold the weight
with every
word we speak
we cross a line that did not exist
the day before were finding
new ways to offend

i know that you have felt this way before
there has got to be another way to feel
And i know that i have heard this all before
please offer us another losing tale

you’re making excuses
for actions you’re ashamed of
you’re turning your movement
into a modern witch hunt
you’re spitting
in the face
of all who came before you
making a mockery
of what you claim to stand for

every word out of your mouth
is a tripwire for society
every word out of your mouth
is a fallacy

the count is on
there is no more time
the end is near
the blurring of lines
the fall of mankind

i know that you have felt this way before
there has got to be another way to feel
And i know that i have heard this all before
please offer us another losing tale

and when there is nothing to give
you take what you can
you claim theres spit and spirit

preach your sermon to your masses of sheep
send your flock out to kill
feast on the souls that they reap
build your following
at any expense
there is no love lost
there is no bridge to mend

delete yourself
yet your history stands
there’s no hope of anonymity (no hope of anonymity)

and yet
you continue to claim
that death is validated only if in your name

please don't tell my father what i have done
when we cross paths again
he wont acknowledge his son
i am ashamed
of the man that i left you to be
i thought you'd be a better representation of me

dear god
i am sorry for how i act
i took the wrong path
and i never looked back
i was pushed
but thats no excuse
i am the one who has killed
yet I'm here to accuse

now i am stuck
between heaven and hell
in a place i can remember but cant recognize well

i put my life on a shelf
for dreams that never came true
and heres to the hope
that i might still mean something to you

And if not for the things i did right
than just to say i didn't waste all of my life

why am i questioning others actions
as if they have been holding me captive
these restraints are self deprecating.
this is in no way captivating

they have taken everything from me
